I'm posting this situation here cause it's similar to when the game just freezes and doesn't respond until I force close.
Whenever I exit the game sometimes the game will end up freezing. It stays that way until I force close the program itself.

Here's what I think is the crash dump from it:

Here's also the info that windows pull up about the program no responding normally:
A problem caused this program to stop interacting with Windows.

Something that I decided to do while trying to figure out what weapon can utilize finishers and grabs.
I'll probably make a complete weapon compilation for the public once the game hits the final stages of development.

As the title states, I was going through the stages to get better ratings while waiting for a Co-Op match to start. When I did manage to get one after the results screen popped up, I hit accept match and the game gave me a legit crash.

Here's my crash file for the situation.

I'll see if I can try to replicate this but it's hard to do that when you're playing during odd hours like 2 am EST and such.

Is the current build of the game under a No Disclosure agreement (NDA)? I sorta want to stream and/or record more footage of the game for public viewing.

No, I had to force Close it due to the game not responding upon freezing.

The next time the game does I'll see if I can pull any crash info.

Dropping a line here to say if anyone wants to join the discord and the invite has expired. They can shoot me a message and I'll revive the invite to the discord once more.

As the topic states, this lil gem is about how Guarding actually cancels out the dying animation.

This is done when you, of course, lose all of your health. By guarding within the right frames, you can actually cancel out your death animation and go into the guard stance as if you are holding on to your dear life with the shield. However, when you can cancel out of this animation is still hard to determine at the moment.

How I found out about this to begin with is when I just decided on a whim to mash all the buttons to see if I can do anything at all, and then over time I come to realize that tapping Guard is the actual key to preventing death.
How many times do you need to hit guard in order to cancel out of the animation is still being figured out as it seems as if timing it may be the main factor:
In this first video, I experimented with what I can do once I snap out of the death animation and into the guard stance:
  • Could still move but only while guarding
  • Could still use the dash out of the guard
  • Could still use certain special abilies that uses the stab button like the cannon shot out of the guard
  • Could not use anything that involves the slash button unless it's a dash attack
  • Could not Jump
  • Could not Pause
  • Can recharge mana

I bold the last item because this can be abused with one piece of equipment currently, The Healer Chest piece.

You can still charge mana back up because you are still in the guard stance, and because of how Healing wave works (When you've charged all your mana up, the next charge will deplete it and restore your health), you can heal for a lil bit and continue to fight.

This could be fixed if you make a state where the control input is cut off the moment there is no health left for the player, but this just a suggestion since I know nothing of what works under the hood of the game. I'll keep poking around to see if I can come across more things, I'm starting to thing guarding could do more than what I have discovered.

Whenever my PC decides to not be angry at me and randomly blue screen on me, I manage to get a few sessions in while recording. I've come across 3 instances where the game crashes itself:

These two is when it first happened and I managed to replicate the crash one afterwards:
  • When fighting The Clanker during Co-Op Survival, Air Dash Stabing it may cause the game to crash
1st Time:
2nd attempt replicating the issue:

I tried to replicate the crash afterwards in both Campaign and in Solo Survival Pit but yield no crashes.

So when I went back to Co-Op Survival to try to do the crash once more to see if it does crash, it doesn't seem to do it. Roughly tried it 4 more times and no crashes happened in the 3 games I played.

However afterwards the game DID crashed during a different session:

I am not entirely sure but I think it has to involve using the Cannon Shield, As much as I love that shield  It tends to crash the game whenever I use it for Co-Op.

If you need my current specs for further spectulation here they are:
Windows version: Windows 7 Service Pack 1, 6.1, build: 7601
CPU: AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six-Core Processor
GPU: Nvidia GTX 470
RAM: DDR3 1333, 8GB

I'll report back later if I can consistantly replicate the crash if the mechanical gods are kind to me.

With the beta well underway to stress test the Online functions, it may seem a bit hard to get into a session or two when you really want to get a duo team going.

This thread aims to help players in the beta get together to rumble in the pits and/or squish bugs that may be crawling around there.

There's many options of how to contact each other:

There are a lot more than just those options, so if you wish to mingle and work together in helping improve the game or just want to enjoy the Co-Op that's currently implemented in the game now. Drop a line or two in the thread. Have fun out there.

Bug Reports ULTIMATE / Air Dash Stab cancel into the Finisher
« on: June 28, 2016, 04:46:24 AM »
I am not sure if this is a glitch or an intentional thing but if the enemy is low enough to be off'd by a Finisher while you do the Air Dash Stab, pressing Stab again when you are in range before the attack lands cancels it out completely into the finisher and it's animation.

I made a video showcasing this along with the inputs I did during the sequence.
  • When the Eneny is low enough to be finished off with the Finisher (Pushing Y near the Enemy). Jump in the air and perform the Dash Stab attack
  • Just before you land the attack on the target, hit Stab again, the timing window seems to be narrow

As shown, I was able to do this 2/3 times but with proper timing it should be able to be done 100% of the time in the right hands.
